Privacy policy

Gollachut Games ("we") runs gollachut.games. This policy explains what we collect when you play, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Write to us any time at hello@gollachut.games.

What we collect

Your account, if you sign in with Google or Facebook: your name, email address, profile picture and the ID that provider gives your account.
If you play as a guest: a random guest ID, and no name or email.
Your play: the games you play, the moves and results of each match, who you played, your ratings, levels and unlocks, your friends and invitations, and whether you're online.
Your connection: your IP address and browser type are stored with your sign-in session. Our hosting providers also keep short-lived technical logs.
Anything you send us, such as an email.

We don't use analytics or tracking tools of our own.

How we use it

To run your account and the games: saving your progress, matching you with other players, keeping scores and ratings.
To show your name, picture, ratings and results to other players: in matches, on the rankings and to your friends.
To keep play fair and the site safe: spotting cheating and abuse, and fixing problems.
To reply when you write to us.
To show ads, as explained below.

If you're in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: providing the service you asked for (your account and the games), our legitimate interests (fair play, security and improving the games), and your consent (personalised advertising).

Advertising

When ads are switched on, they're served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, and turn off other vendors' cookies for personalised ads at aboutads.info. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

In the UK, the EU and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are used. If you say no, you may still see ads that aren't personalised. Change your choice at any time with Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
In US states with privacy laws, such as California, showing you personalised ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. Opt out with the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link that appears at the bottom of the page where it applies.

Cookies and storage on your device

A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. The site needs it to work.
A language cookie remembers for a year whether you chose English or Bangla.
Your browser keeps your game settings, a guest's progress and any game you haven't finished.
Advertising cookies, only as described above.

Who else handles your information

We use trusted providers to run the site: Vercel (website hosting), Fly.io (game server), Neon (database), Google and Facebook (sign-in) and Google (advertising). They handle your information only to provide their service to us. Other players see your display name, picture, ratings and results. We don't sell your information for money, and we never post anything for you.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the site from fraud or abuse.

Where it's stored and for how long

Our servers are in Singapore. When information about players in the UK or the EU goes there, our providers protect it with standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We keep your account information while your account exists, and delete it within 30 days when you ask. Sign-in sessions expire on their own. Guest records that are no longer used may be removed.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@gollachut.games from the address you signed in with, and we'll reply within 30 days. See also Delete your data.

In the UK, the EU and Switzerland, you can also limit how we use your information, take it to another service, and complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office.
In US states with privacy laws, you can ask what we collect and why, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of the selling or sharing of your information. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

Gollachut is for players of all ages, especially grown-ups who grew up with these games. Signing in needs a Google or Facebook account, so account holders are at least 13 (or older where local law says so). Guests play without giving any personal information. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us some, email hello@gollachut.games and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you on the site.
